Hemisphere Signs with Agency33 for LGBTQ Public Relations

Acclaimed San Diego-based band Hemisphere has officially signed with Agency33 Public Relations for LGBTQ outreach. The band, led by openly gay front man Rob Shinno, has recently released their latest album American Dreams.

Since its release, Hemisphere has been featured in VENTS and Skope magazines, #ILoveGay Today and other music media outlets.

“American Dreams is really meant to be a journey thru various themes that help to define us a community, and as a nation,” states Shinno. “If you listen to the end of the opening track ‘America’ you get the sense of Unity, Diversity and Equality that we are hoping to message on the album.  From there you get right into the track ‘Dance Club’ that is trying to convey that we all have someplace we go to feel comfortable and relaxed, regardless of our views or differences in that Pet Shop Boys disco style delivery. In the end ‘American Dreams’ ending up being a mash-up of many different styles with a common thread…a lot like the melting pot that America represents to the world.”

One journalist describes American Dreams as: “The expressive and evocative vocal performance in the release recalls the likes of Morrissey, David Bowie, and Depeche Mode.”

The band has been a fixture in the West Coast gay pride circuit for many years, having headlined San Diego Pride and shared the stage with Joan Jett, Berlin, and Judy Tenuta.

Shinno formed Hemisphere with sax player Don Bowman and released the CD ‘Blue Planet Dreams’ which also garnered critical acclaim and was nominated for ‘Best Album of the Year’ by the San Diego Music awards. The band had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Newport Beach Jazz Festival.
