LGBTQ+ Victory Institute, an organization dedicated to building a pipeline of LGBTQ+ public leaders, and EqualityMD, a trailblazing LGBTQ+ inclusive telehealth platform, are thrilled to announce a partnership that brings affirming healthcare to LGBTQ+ elected officials across the country. This innovative collaboration ensures that those dedicating their lives to public service feel seen, supported, and cared for, while showcasing EqualityMD as a national leader in equitable healthcare.
Through this partnership, EqualityMD will provide 36 affirming telehealth visits annually—including 12 mental health sessions, 12 primary care visits, and 12 urgent care appointments—along with free prescription fulfillment for 10 LGBTQ+ elected officials as part of a Victory Institute pilot program aimed at addressing mental health. Delivered by compassionate, culturally competent providers, these services create a safe space where leaders can be their authentic selves, free from barriers like co-pays or insurance hurdles.

In 2024, LGBTQ+ Victory Institute released “Pride and Pressure,” a comprehensive report on the mental health challenges faced by out LGBTQ+ elected officials. 91% reported declining mental health since taking office. 70% of elected officials wanted to seek mental health treatment, but nearly half, 49%, did not for many reasons. With 1 in 3 LGBTQ+ individuals facing healthcare discrimination—and 1 in 4 avoiding care as a result—EqualityMD’s platform offers a lifeline, connecting officials with providers who honor their identities. This partnership nurtures their well-being, empowering them to champion their communities with confidence.
