The 17th Annual Sin City Classic Sports Returns to Las Vegas

This Year the World’s Largest Annual LGBTQ+ Sports Festival Features at Least 19 Sports, Additional Competition Days, and an Exhibition Rodeo Event.

LOS ANGELES, October 18, 2023 – The Greater Los Angeles Softball Association (GLASA) today announced that at least 19 sports will be participating in the 17th annual Sin City Classic Sports Festival Presented by Lexus. The 2024 Festival, which is the largest annual LGBTQ+ sporting event in the world, will take place in Las Vegas from January 11 – 14, 2024, and include a new exhibition in Rodeo. Each year the Flamingo Las Vegas hosts the Sin City Classic, which now sees the participation of over 10,000 LGBTQ+ athletes and allies from around the world.

“The Sin City Classic has become a staple of the LGBTQ+ sports community. Each year we work hard to create a safe space for our athletes to gather for a weekend of competition, fun, and – mostly importantly – community, said Sin City Classic Co-Executive Director Jason Peplinski. “As the festival grows and evolves with a diverse roster of both sports and participants, this year we’re welcoming the LGBTQ+ Rodeo to show off their sport to our attendees.”

Additional sports hosting competitions at this year’s festival include: Bowling, Bridge, Cheerleading, Cornhole for Charity, Soft Tip Darts, Steel Tip Darts, Dodgeball, Flag Football, Golf, Indoor Rowing, Kickball, Pickleball, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, Indoor Volleyball, Sand Volleyball, and Wrestling & Grappling.

Each January during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, the festival kicks off with the Opening Night Registration Party held at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Competitions and nightly social events then take place around the city, with the weekend culminating in the Closing Party. This year’s Closing Party takes place at the LINQ Promenade’s Brooklyn Bowl.

GLASA created the Sin City Classic in 2008 as an LGBTQ+ softball tournament meant to provide a safe and competitive atmosphere for LGBTQ+ athletes. Over the past 16 years the tournament has grown to include 24 sports and approximately 10,000 athletes and fans. GLASA remains committed to creating the best experience possible for diverse roster of dedicated athletes who participate and the fans and allies to come to enjoy the festival.

The Sin City Classic is proudly hosted at the Flamingo Las Vegas. Additional sponsors include presenting sponsor, Lexus, as well as Caesar’s Entertainment, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, ViiV Healthcare and Piranha Nightclub.
