AQUA GIRL Celebrates 20 Years of Sun, Fun, Women, and Community

IGLTA signs on as annual event partner for the Miami Beach-based women’s week, 3-6 October

The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association is proud to support Aqua Girl, the iconic annual LBTQ+ women’s charity event in Miami Beach. The event, which features 10 events ranging from pool parties to VIP soirees to spoken word performances, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Proceeds benefit the Aqua Foundation for Women, a not-for-profit-foundation whose primary focus is to promote the equality, strength, health, and visibility of lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer women.

“We’re always looking for ways to better engage our global tourism network with LGBTQ+ travelers and be more inclusive as an association,” said IGLTA President/CEO John Tanzella. “Aqua Girl™ combines philanthropy, support specifically for the LBTQ+ community, and a welcoming destination in one great package.”

This year’s celebration is led by the founder of Aqua Girl™, Alison Burgos, along with Yesi Leon and Amy Alonso of Pandora Events—all who were part of the event’s creation.

“We are so excited to partner with IGLTA to elevate our dedicated efforts in promoting Aqua Girl™ as one of the largest women’s festivals in the world,” Leon said. “We want to welcome even more women from around the globe into this empowering event. There are so many LBTQ+ women who don’t have the opportunity to connect or find support in their own communities.”

The lineup of hosts, DJs/producers and performers for this year’s event will include Jackie Cruz, from Orange is the New Black, Real L Word alumni Rose Garcia, local latinimpresanario Chicky Lu, DJ/Producer SammiiBlendzz (NYC), Abstrakt (Atlanta), DJ/Producer Citizen Jane (Miami), DJ Zehno (Miami), DJ GIgi (Miami), and DJ Pat Pat (Naples, Florida).

Guests can be part of all the sun, sea, excitement, and experience all that is Aqua Girl™ by staying at the host hotel, The Marseilles, in the heart of South Beach. Rates start at $189 per night with a two-night minimum required. For reservations, visit www.aquagirl.org or call 800-327-4739 and use code Aqua Girl. All events are 21 and over.
