Gayborhood Pride launches live interactive streaming Prides to living rooms around the world

The effects of COVID-19 are having an unprecedented impact on billions of people. As citizens of the world, we are all doing our best to cope with the new reality of social distancing. None of us could have imagined something of this magnitude and the effects of the pandemic, which are taking an emotional and economical toll on everyone, including the LGBTQ+ community.

Pride festivals have been an important part of the LGBTQ+ community for over 50 years. The loss of a significant number of Prides around the world is having a devastating impact on the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community and our allies at a time when it is vital we have a voice and be heard.

The strength and perseverance of the LGBTQ+ community has always come from our commitment to stay united and live our truth. Gayborhood Pride is committed to keeping the tradition of Pride alive and with the help of our network of LGBTQ+ influencers, who reach over 50 million collective followers around the world, that vision is now a reality.

Gayborhood Pride gives an opportunity for cities with canceled or postponed Prides to keep their community together, save their Pride and showcase, celebrate and create revenue for the local LGBTQ+ artists, nonprofits, and businesses. At each Gayborhood Pride, up to 100,000 highly engaged attendees enjoy the best parts of Pride including artists, DJ’s and drag queens, such as superstars from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Attendees are invited to maintain social distancing, stay safe and celebrate together from the comfort of their homes.

“The loss of Pride festivals around the world meant we had to find a solution to be sure that the LGBTQ+ community knew they weren’t alone in these trying times. As a community, we have seen what happens when we
lose our voice and the significant impact it has on equality for generations to come. Gayborhood Pride is a testament of what happens when you bring together a marginalized community, their allies, a global pandemic and technology. We are sending the message that our fight for equal rights doesn’t stop,” says Todd Murray, Partner and Creative Director at Gayborhood Group.

Gayborhood Pride has released 10,000 free general admission tickets for their Phoenix Edition, which will live stream on April 18th. Future Gayborhood Pride Editions have been announced for Miami, Washington DC, Long Beach, Columbus, Tampa, Provincetown, Dallas, Utah, New Orleans, Los Angeles and Twin Cities.
