Dr. Deborah Birx, Dr. Antony Fauci, Billy Porter, and Jonathan Van Ness Among Featured VIP Interviews

+Life, devoted to eliminating HIV stigma, and the 23rd International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2020: Virtual) today announced an exclusive media partnership to produce informative and insightful content for the world’s largest conference on HIV, taking place July 6-10, 2020. This marks the first time the Conference has partnered with a media company to create digital content, which will be executive produced by AO Media, the creator of +Life.

The co-branded content, which will be available for the general public to view daily during the Conference, will include:

  • AIDS 2020: Virtual DAILY: The 15-minute daily show will feature high profile guests, as well as community members from all over the world engaging in conversation with host – HIV advocate, entertainment correspondent, and +Life co-founder, Karl Schmid. Confirmed guests include Dr. Deborah Birx, Dr. Antony Fauci, Billy Porter, Jonathan Van Ness, an MTV Shuga special, and more.
  • Youth Force DAILY Broadcast: produced with the AIDS 2020: Virtual Youth Force, highlighting International AIDS Society (IAS) Youth Ambassadors around the world and the crucial work they are doing, along with conversations with young people living with HIV and long-term survivors, and additional important topics.
  • Global Village Showcase: showcasing international talent from the AIDS 2020: Virtual Global Village.

“This year’s COVID-19 pandemic is an unfortunate reminder that the topic of viral infections remains a critical healthcare crisis, mirroring what we’ve experienced through the decades with HIV transmission,” said Karl Schmid. “AIDS 2020: Virtual and +Life are aligned perfectly in our mission of using fact-based information and powerful first-person experience to empower everyday people to live healthy lives regardless of their HIV status.”

“We are delighted to collaborate with +Life at AIDS 2020: Virtual, presenting breaking HIV science and debate’’ said Bijan Farnoudi, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at the International AIDS Society who steward the AIDS conferences. “The theme of this year’s Conference is Resilience and there really is no better word to describe the HIV community and our ability to come together in a shared commitment to the global HIV response. AIDS 2020: Virtual DAILY, as well as the Youth Force Broadcast and Global Village Showcase, captures the extraordinary individuals and communities at the very heart of the HIV response.”

Digital content from AIDS 2020: Virtual DAILY will also be featured on +Life’s website and social media platforms, as well as included in the upcoming television series +Life on ABC’s Localish network.
