Pride and Prejudice – Business As A Catalyst For Change – 2017 – Hong Kong, London & New York

The Economist’s Pride and Prejudice, Business As A Catalyst For Change, is coming back in 2017 in three cities simultaneously… Hong Kong, London and New York.

Pride and Prejudice is a global, 24-hour event spanning three cities globally that will catalyse fresh debate on the economic and human costs of discrimination against the LGBT community. The event will challenge policymakers and industry leaders to rethink the future of the global LGBT movement and its impact on business.

Attitudes towards lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people have changed with remarkable swiftness across much of the Western world. Gay marriage, a bellwether of progress towards equality, is increasingly being written into law. Businesses see competitive advantage in creating a reputation for inclusiveness. However, a rise in illiberal populism around the world, from Brexit to the recent outcome of the US elections, could threaten the progress made so far.

Join The Economist Events to explore the role of business in moving the mark on LGBT rights around the world. Hear from some of the most influential business decision-makers, government policy-makers, and innovative thinkers from across the globe, discussing an unbiased, content-driven and business-oriented agenda. Connect and network with over 200 leaders from the worlds of business, politics and society to address LGBT business issues head-on and bring the debate forward.
