THE #ILOVEGAY Q&A: RAVI ROTH

You may have seen a few posts from our friend Ravi Roth throughout social. If you know him, you know that he brings a special light when he’s around, but in case he’s still a mystery to you we thought we’d have him go through our #ILoveGay Q&A, like our friends Borja Matheu & Gareth Johnson did recently, and here’s what Ravi had to say:

The Basics:

Go ahead and brag, how many people do you influence and through what platform(s)?

Ravi: Twitter, FB, Instagram, Gay Cities, YouTube combined 200k+

Are you planning on adding any other platform to your portfolio?

Ravi: Someday I plan to learn good ole Pinterest

Which #ILoveGay handles speak to you the most? The ones you MUST tag in your posts?

Ravi: Usually @ILoveLGBTTravel @ILoveBayBars @ILoveGayTheatre and whatever city I am in.

 The Individuality:

What achievement are you most proud of?

Ravi: Being named top 10 gay travel Instagrammers in the world by Hornet / Unicorn Booty and speaking on being an influencer with gay travel at the New York Times Building at LGBT Week.

What is unique about you, that differentiates your content and makes you stand out to others?

Ravi: I am FEARLESS. I go balls to the wall and live my life without limits.

Who’s your role model in business? In life?

Ravi: As an influencer Arielle Scarcella as she just does it- goes against the grain of “normal” and makes her voice heard in a world that really needs it. In terms of travel writing Travels of Adam, Nomadic Boys, and Two Bad Tourists are who I aim to be a combo platter. Adam is a hipster/foodie who loves nightlife as much as I, Nomadic Boys are sexy as fu*k and take the most glam pictures for Instagram, and Two Bad Tourists get the humor of travel and provide incredible insight to destinations.

The Motivation:

What gets you going in the morning?

Ravi: GRATITUDE and waking up every day knowing it’s going to be the best day ever (also 3 cups of coffee)

Would that also get you up in the middle of the night?

Ravi: If I had too much coffee…well then YAS KWEEN!

What if you weren’t paid for it?
Ravi: I am not a lot of the time- but knowing I am putting a smile on faces, educating people on cities, and being my authentic self is enough. The $$$$ will pour in soon.

The LGBTQ Community:

As an influencer, what surprises you most about the LGBTQ community, that you didn’t know when you started, good or bad?

Ravi: In the US, when I started travel vlogging I didn’t realize that the labels were so in right now. The more cities I visit I am learning that it is vital for each person in the LGBTQIA+ community to be heard.

If you had the power to heal afflictions facing our community, what would you address first?

Ravi: That we are ALL in the same damn community and to stop attacking people within and to just spread love, share insight, and use our platforms to educate others.

The Goal:

As an #ILoveGay ambassador, what should we expect to see from you?

Ravi: Some fierce videos and travel blogs coming up on New Zealand, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, and Dublin. Also I went to GNI (Gay Naturist International) a gay naked camp in the Poconos where I tried a LOT of firsts…

What would be your dream achievement?

Ravi: To be the #1 Gay Travel Guru- the Vlogger that people go to for advice. My own TV show that empowers authenticity and the voices in the LGBTQIA+ community to be heard.

Who is your dream business partner / advertiser?

Ravi: Would love my show on LOGO or them. by Conde Naste.

Anything else you’d like to tell us?

Ravi: Failure is inevitable. Learning from mistakes and maintaining humility when things go FIERCE will ultimately give you sustainability.  Sometimes true GEMS of cities are in our backyards. I just released my Fort Lauderdale Video and that city is the MOST INCLUSIVE city I have been to in world, where the minority is the majority.  Check it out! Also subscribe to my YouTube.com/RaviRoundTheWorld & Instagram @raviroundtheworld & Twitter @RaviRndTheWorld

The End:

When it’s all said and done, what do you want to be remembered for?

Ravi: My unique point of view, humor, fearless attitude, and building a brand solo- by myself- teaching myself how to be a 1 man band.

Thank you Ravi, we’re looking forward to reading your content throughout our #ILoveGay network, and we’re looking forward to seeing you in A Letter To Harvey Milk (in which you are FABULOUS!) a few more times before the end of its run!
